August 31st is a very special day in my family. It was my grandma´s birthday (my mom´s mom). Every year after she died we have celebrated her birthday with the people of the Missionaries of Charity homes. We bring a traditional meal "nacatamal", cake and coke.
It was time to go pick up the nacatamales so Maria Teresa was checking the pots. She was making sure they were big enough to fit all the food in it.
The nacatamales come wraped in banana leaves. Here is my mom taking the tamales out of the leaves and puting them in plates.

Well I set up a blogspot (Keystonemontessorischool). Kind of fun. I haven't had time to put pictures or much on it, but I am finding my way around. I even found yours without much trouble. I enjoyed reading your blogs.
